In The Area: Wizarding World
Can’t get enough of Harry Potter? Experience the world of magic and muggles for yourself at Watford’s very own The Making of Harry Potter.
Wander the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley, swig from a flagon of real butterbeer and get your hands on your very own wand at Leavesden’s Warner Bros. Studios Tour London.
Over the span of a decade, the magical world of the Harry Potter film franchise made its home on the former airfield backlot.
Many of the film franchise’s unforgettably lavish sets were built at the site and much of it has been retained and restored to create a truly magical walkthrough experience.
The Making of Harry Potter is now the permanent home for many of the props, costumes and sets that were used throughout the eight-film series.
From the Great Hall at Hogwarts to the dark depths of the Forbidden Forest, the backlot features plenty for fans to explore.
The sets are brought to life with huge animatronics and interactives; find eight-legged Aragog deep within the Forest, and step aboard the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9¾.
The Making of Harry Potter has consistently topped TripAdvisor’s rankings for attractions in the UK ever since it first opened in 2012.
A must for Harry Potter fans and those new to the wizarding world alike.
