Top Italian Restaurants in Watford

Feb 4, 2018

What’s not to love about a good Italian? Fresh pasta, rustic pizza and moreish antipasti plates; Meditteranean cuisine really is a little something for everyone.

Watford is spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a venue for a taste of Tuscany. Here are some of our favourite Italian restaurants in Watford:

Family-run Vanchino’s serves up an assortment of Meditteranean favourites at a reasonable price.

There are classic pasta and al forno dishes, alongside wholesome pizzas and fresh salads for those seeking a lighter option.

The antipasto sharing platters are a treat and great for a healthy lunch. One of the best restaurants in Watford, nevermind Italians.

Pizza specialists with over 15 years experience. L’artista is a favourite with the business lunch brigade.

Homemade pizzas are obviously the order of the day, but the stacked starter menu is not to be sniffed at either.

We recommend the deep-fried mozzarella and the Antipasto Primavera.

Zinco Sapori D’italia

A cheerful Italian joint on the Watford high street. The ever-popular Zinco offers simple and straightforward Meditteranean cuisine.

Highlights include an expansive fish menu, and some delicious tapas-style nibbles perfect for partnering with a few drinks.

Amici’s Cafe Ristorante

This little family-owned diner blends Italian classics with more traditional British and American fare.

Whether it’s Penne Arrabiata and a nice glass of red, or a hearty burger with chips – Amici’s caters for all tastes.

Zaza Rickmansworth

Head out of Watford to nearby Rickmansworth, and you’ll happen across this branch of popular Italian, Zaza.

This elegant restaurant is situated in 17th century premises, and also features a lively terrace for alfresco summer dining.

A little on the pricier side, but the extra dough (ahem) will get you a sizable pizza or an award-winning steak cut.

Pepe Rosso

Solid portions in a slick, modern setting. That’s what you’ll find at Pepe Rosso. The simple decor means there is a greater focus on the food here at “Pepe”.

You’ll find all the usual Italian classics alongside more traditional choices, including a fried breakfast menu, and a range of sandwiches.
