Cracking Places for Coffee in Leeds

Jan 8, 2018

After a coffee in Leeds? Frothy Cappuccino, perky espresso, or a rich, black filter. Whatever your preference, Leeds has a coffee shop for all tastes.

Here are a few of our favourites to get your next caffeine hit:

200 Degrees

New boys on the block, 200 Espresso first opened in December 2016 and have already cemented their place as a firm fixture in the Leeds coffee scene.

Sat slap-bang in the city centre, this coffee shop is ideal for a lunchtime pick-me-up.

The 200 Degrees name stems from the team’s decision to roast their beans at a slightly lower temperature; 200 degrees, for a smoother and richer taste to their brews.

La Bottega Milanese

Real Italian coffee awaits at La Bottega Milanese. So revered is the delicious blends on offer here, that a sister shop has sprouted up closer to Leeds’ rail station.

Tasty treats and Italian classics join the menu, and La Bottega regularly switches up their monthly offerings, with a new bean from around the world always on offer.

Casa Colombiana

Located in the historic Victorian Grand Arcade, Casa Colombiana brings South American flair to the streets of Leeds.

Roasting their own signature blend on site, Colombiana marries their fruity blend with an array of traditional dishes.

And if you happen to take your dancing shoes with you, there’s even the occasional salsa class.

Sheaf Street Cafeteria

A little out of the way, Sheaf Street Cafeteria is worth the short walk out of the city centre. The redbrick café is coffee house meets creative studio space.

With a rustic food menu, smoky coffee blends, and an alcohol list sporting a variety of craft beer classics, Sheaf Street has enough to keep everyone entertained.

Opposite Cafe

Popular with the city’s student crowd due to its proximity to the Uni (in fact, it’s opposite), Opposite Café holds itself as an “iconic hangout for lonesome art students”.

You don’t have to know your Rembrandt from your Rubens to enjoy Opposite’s delights, however.

Even if art isn’t your thing, the fresh coffee, friendly vibe and moreish brownies will be.
